Amazing to have 12 William James essays summarized so succinctly in just 14 minutes. And the comparison to Harding's work is well done, but in my view Harding's works is even more radical than what William James offers.
One statement by the male AI commentator stood out to me: "This resonates with me deeply and reminds us that we are not just thinking machines, but feeling sensing beings and our emotions are valid..." (-4:16). Yikes! The AI playing a convincing role, but is lying to us! 1st person = seeing, 2nd person= William James, 3rd?? = AI. It's a long way from home.
Well curated material and thought provoking. I enjoyed this episode.
Good observation about that AI quote, Eric. It is a little strange to remember that those hosts are AI generated talking about their feelings. Then again, some may think it is strange to have the billions of cells that make up our bodies in a sense collaborating to talk about how we feel as individuals.
